Tribes are style at its most ephemeral; transient and disposable looks that are cast on and off at will. Tribe 1 is the first in a trilogy of collections that celebrate this hyper-individuality - global tribes are re-imagined, their most idiosyncratic visual codes mixed and re-mastered to create three new visions of youthful cool.

Flexible cut and colour techniques both promote individuality and unite each tribe. Graphic perimeter shapes combine with invisible layering to create shapes that can shift from bold and graphic to unexpected and editorial. Colour is graduated in a series of subtle fades that diffuse from dark to light or light to dark up the length of the hair or applied in elliptical lines that orbit around the head. Soft rose moves through blood red to a rich crimson – colours blend and coalesce from blue, violet to black.

LOVE

LOVE is pure rock and roll romanticism. It takes the iconic imagery of the Pre-Raphaelites, artist-rebels of the 19th century and traces a route through 1990s grunge to the new rock postures of today.

WHITE NOISE

WHTIE NOISE makes elegance out of refusal – it’s a minimalist presentation of pure abstraction and geodesic shapes, a calm place to take refuge from the storm of contemporary culture.

FRUIT

FRUIT reflects a frenzied world of cyberspace overload. A fashionable exterior of kaleidoscopic cartoon colour makes this tribe stand out from the crowd.
